Water lines

Waterline pipes are those lines or pipes which are used to transfer water in a home plumbing system. The pipes which transport drinkable water are made from different materials from those pipes that transfer drain water are made. For the treatment of water line system, denver drain cleaner, drain camera denver and denver sewer replacement could be used.

Some of the common materials used to manufacture pipes are mentioned below;

  • Galvanized steel: Galvanized pipe is a type of steel pipe that is coated with a layer of zinc. This zinc coating prevents the corrosion of pipe from water. There was a time when galvanized steel pipe was used to be the most common pipes used for water supply but because of all the time and labour that is required for threading, cutting, and installing galvanized pipe, these pipes are no longer in use. Although, the use of galvanized pipe is still seen in many commercial applications.
  • Copper: Copper pipes are mainly used where there is the transportation of hot and cold water is required. Copper pipes can be in both above-ground and underground application. Since the copper pipes may get affected by some soils, therefore the copper pipes should have a protective layer before using them for underground applications. There are many different ways through which we can connect copper pipes including push-fit fittings, compression fittings, or sweat-soldering.
  • PVC: PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride. Out of all the types of pipes that are used to transfer water, PVC pipes has a wide range of plumbing uses from drainage pipe to water supply. The most common uses of PVC pipes are building supply piping and irrigation piping. Even in pools and spa, PVC pipes are very common in use. Although PVC pipes are white in colour it comes in many other colours also. For example, the purple pipe with the black lettering is used for the reclaimed water. PVC pipes are also available in a variety of thickness known as schedules.
  • CPVC: CPVC stands for Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride. Most often, these pipes are cream I in colour or off-white plastic. These type of pipes have a high-temperature bearing tendency. It can bear up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit temperature and because of this property CPVC pipes can be used for both cold and hot water lines. In order to make a joint between PVC and CPVC, you should use primer and glue. While using the glue, make sure that the glue is used only on the CPVC part.
